Reserve de la Cave Malbec
Wine
Woodlands Reserve de la Cave Malbec expresses distinct regional characters of Margaret River. Malbec was first planted at Woodlands's Wilyabrup Valley vineyard in 1974.
For many years Malbec was only used for blending. Its first vintage in the spotlight was in 1993, and today only tiny amounts are produced under the leading Reserve de la Cave label.
The wine is made simply. The fruit is handpicked, and each batch is destemmed and hand sorted into small open fermenters. Following fermentation, the wine is transferred to oak to mature for around 15 months.
Deep purple, Woodlands Reserve de la Cave Malbec has plush dark fruit flavours, a ripe tannin backbone and lasting length. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
